D OF E Exped
On Friday 21st March 2008, 11 cadets from Mildenhall plus many more from the whole of Suffolk ACF took part in their Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions around the Rendlesham and Woodbridge area.

They all met at Ipswich TA Centre to re-check their routes and collect extra equipment including tents and cookers. they were then dropped off to one of two points where their expeds began. Everyone made a tremendous effort on the first day and made it to the camp site where they got their food and then after a little while went to sleep.

They were up bright and early at 7:00 am the next morning when they got their breakfast and collapsed their tents. When all of the equipment and rubbish was collected up they were on their way for the second day of their exped. After a few hours of walking everyone made it to the end point and relaxed in the minibuses waiting to go home after a fun filled weekend of walking. Although it was very hard work everyone enjoyed themselves and some even started to sing on there way to the end.

Congratulations to everybody who went as all who went made it to the end of a 22 mile route. 1/3 of the people this weekend were from Mildenhall. That shows everyone who is the best!

"The D Of E weekend was a hard weekend but also a good one even with all the bad weather we had to put up with throughout most of both days. I also got to know people more than how much i already knew them."

The exped was a very good weekend even with all the bad and wet weather. The boys all got wet as the tent they were in wasnt waterproof because they said me and suzy could have the tent we had to carry round as it looked smaller.
